Basic characteristics of perfluororubber products
Definition
Perfluororubber products refer to terpolymers of perfluoro(methyl vinyl) ether, tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoroolefin ether. Also known as perfluoroether rubber.
Characteristic
Perfluororubber products have elasticity and thermal and chemical stability of PTFE. The long-term working temperature is -39~288 degrees Celsius, and the short-term can reach 315 degrees Celsius. It still has a certain degree of plasticity below the embrittlement temperature. It is hard but not brittle and can be bent. Stable to all chemicals except swelling in fluorinated solvents.
Production principle
Emulsion polymerization by perfluoro(methyl vinyl) ether, tetrafluoroethylene and a small amount of perfluoroalkenyl ether, peroctanoic acid saddle as dispersant and ferric persulfate-sodium sulfite as initiator at pressure of 1.4~4.2MPa and temperature of 40~100 degrees Celsius Then, it is sulfurized by double nucleophilic substitution with diamine or 2,2'-bis(4-phenylhydroxypropane) and fluorine on the perfluorobenzene ring.
Application
Processing performance is poor. It is used in occasions where fluorine rubber is not competent and the conditions are harsh. To make seals resistant to various media, such as rocket fuel, umbilical, oxidant, nitrous oxide, fuming nitric acid, etc., for aerospace, aviation, chemical, petroleum, nuclear energy and other industrial sectors.
Other advantages
In addition to excellent chemical resistance and heat resistance, the product is homogeneous, and the surface is free from problems such as penetration, cracking and pinholes. These features can improve sealing performance, extend operating cycles, and effectively reduce maintenance costs.
